INternational student, out of status and married......?

OK, so i came to the US to finish my degree. I got 4 years. Im only 3 credits shy from getting my bachelor of science degree. I so happened to drop a course and fell out of status, then the finances wasnt there for me to go back. I got married in november.... I still havent finished school but my visa doesnt expire until 2011. I applied for re-enstatement but i need certain doents before i can go through with anything else. My husband is planning to file for me soon. Can i work even though i have an f1 visa but out of status? My ss card says "valid for work only with DHS authorization" what does this mean? Or should i wait until i get my green card? My husband supports me but i hate staying at home doing nothing. Another thing, will they deport me because m not in school anymore? Should i just chill and wait till i get my green card to work legally? Im confused!
