Help! What do you know about censorship, and it's history?

For a research paper, I need to know about censorship, on the web there isn't much I can find. Also I don't want anything about internet censorship, and I don't need definitions. Around the world stats, history and what is the most extreame examples of censorship? I am not asking for homework answers, just help on the subject! thank1
