I want to start video taping my life but I don't know squat about camcorders?

By a Kodak camera do you mean Digital (still) camera? Those aren't ideal if you want them for video because they don't usually have enough memory for a lot of video, and the resolution is usually very low. You can buy camcorders nowadays that record right to DVD. They've also become very easy to use. The menus are built into the LCD screen, and the automatic settings work pretty well. I reccomend Sony or Panasonic, they're very good brands. If you're not worried about HD you could get them at a pretty decent price. Go to Best Buy, they have a good selection of cameras that you can try out right there, and you can ask the guys that work there any questions you have.
