Do spider's faint?

So I was typing on my computer, saw a spider crawl up my screen, I gasp, my dog bark and the spider fell from the top of my screen on to my desk. It got all curl up, so I thought it was dead. So I poke it with a pen it twitch a little. Then there was a straw near by so I poke it again, it got up, flip over and ran off. So do spider faint? Or just play dead? I named him Robbie.
