What are some good Broadway or opera songs to sing for an audition?

I like Broadway songs from musicals like The Phantom of the Opera and Wicked. I also like operas like Carmen and the Marriage of Figaro, but the songs are hard to sing, and I'm not really good at singing in any language other than English right now.Any suggestions on songs I could sing for an audition at school? I tried singing music from Rent(the musical) and The Mikado(opera), but I don't really like the songs. My voice is very deep and low(for a 'female" singer), and I'm a tenor-contralto. That's what my vocal teacher said, and when I speak my voice is deep too. Any suggestions for songs? Thank you
